Keep buggering on! (Week five).

Here we are again –  about to begin week five – and here’s my next installment tapping Sir Winston Churchill’s signature phrase: keep buggering on… to keep our collective spirits up over Easter. Seven little things I came across last week to brighten your day this week – one for each day of the week – to help keep you ‘buggering on’…

What’s missing?

Sometimes good news can also be about what we’re not hearing.  And with all the news, noise and mayhem about Coronavirus, have you noticed there’s no more blathering on about Brexit?  Yes, completely gone and even CNN noticed.

Spread a little positivity today

The Social Co – a social media company out of the UK – created a wonderfully uplifting two minute video everyone should watch. Use the hashtag #weremember and spread a little positivity:

Humans being human

While doom and gloom stories dominate our news, Bored Panda curated 35 wonderful stories that will restore your faith in humanity.  From healthcare workers flying from Atlanta to help colleagues in New York, to Wynn the service dog, comforting front-line healthcare workers in Denver.

Last week I wrote about LATAM’s wonderfully uplifting video and their efforts to keep cargo and aid moving in these difficult times.  This week, Emirates produced a motivational video that imagines what it will be to ask ‘do you remember…?’ what it was like during the time of Covid-19.

Today show

Not all news is bad.  And NBC’s Today Show has actually compiled a collection of good news stories from around New York and around the world at including this great clip of two little kids in China reunited after two months of separation:

Air Canada cargo

In under a week, Air Canada reconfigured one of its Boeing 777’s to create cargo zones for light-weight boxes containing medical equipment. Two more 777s will follow in the coming days. More on this here.

Trump won’t wear a face mask

And perhaps the best news of all this week is that Trump has announced he won’t wear a face mask to protect himself when he greets ‘presidents, prime ministers and dictators…’ (his words not mine) in the Oval office.  Here’s hoping…

There. Feel a little better?
